No pictures yet...

So I don't have the pictures scanned yet, but I couldn't wait to shout out the news...we're having a GIRL!!! No doubts on our part, but I think I needed to have my feelings confirmed through the sonogram to truly announce with authority that it's a girl...Yeah!

A little late...

But Eddie passed his qualifying exam! Way to go babe! We are so proud of you and are so glad that it is over. Now we get to move on to the next 2-3 years of continued dreaded research. We love you!

A conversation with Nate

So as I'm trying to catch up on some blog reading, Nate comes in and tells me he has to go potty. Okay, go right ahead. He comes running in after he's done and tells me, "I didn't put any pencils, or towels, or letters in the potty mom." So I'm thinking, great what did he put in there this time? I go running in to check and he lifts the lid and says, "See, I didn't put anything in there...just my poop."

So tonight before bed the boys were allowed one story to be read by dad. Nate's choice was a little picture book of Book of Mormon stories. When Eddie got to the story of King Benjamin, he asked Nate "Who is this story about? Do you remember his name?" After some hesitation, I tried to prompt him with "You have a cousin with this name." He quickly replied "King Jo-jo-namin". It was awesome! I almost didn't correct him, but I'm sure if he ever mentioned King Jo-jo-namin in primary his teacher's wouldn't know to whom he was referring.

I have to say, it was kind of fun tonight getting ready for bed because we had set up the tent in the family room to dry out from it's monsoon experience this morning and so read stories inside the tent. Nathan and Andrew had a blast running around and chasing each other in the tent and Andrew said his first sentence tonight. All done time out. Classic. Of course he was referring to Nathan and Drew's desire for Nathan to be done with time out, but in our household lately, the time out could really have been for either boy. We were still proud of his attempt at completing a sentence, mostly he just makes jabbering sounds that are very much Ewok'ish or one syllable words.

My other thought for the night is this: I'm so thankful for such good friends. I'm so grateful to be surrounded by such wonderful women who make this my home. I'm grateful for friends who will call me to make sure I get home safe from a fun night out and to make sure my empty home is safe and sound. I'm grateful for friends who let me drop in and visit and for friends that drop in and visit with me (and still love me despite my messy home). Thank you friends. I love you.

The day has finally come...

We finally got our TRCC letter in the mail today and here is a small excerpt:

Dear Mr. Haws,

According to our records, the deadline to appeal the third-party inspector's report issued for your home has expired...

The inspection report is now final and unappealable. We fully expect your builder to comply with these findings and make an offer to repair the defects or resolve them in a manner that meets the report guidelines...

If your builder fails to make the repairs suggested in the inspection report, you may consider pursuing further legal action. In fact, the findings and recommendations made in the report create a rebuttable presumption in your favor with respect to the defects identified in the report. This rebuttable presumption may be used in a legal proceeding between you and your builder, which provides an incentive for your builder to make the necessary repairs and avoid legal action...

Sincerely,
Keith Smith, SIRP Program Specialist

WOOHOOOOOO!!! So basically, they have to repair our home and foundation or we are taking them to court. Of course, there really isn't anything basic about the court system, but at least we have done all the steps that were required of us and finally we can move forward. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and support...we really needed them!

Prego Pics

So mostly this is just for my sister who I'm sure is getting tired of hearing me complain about putting on the prego weight and wanted proof. Here it is...sorry the first one is blurry.

Side view...ignore the shadow cast and you can see the belly.

Drew had to get in on the action and since he wouldn't stop sticking his tongue out I figured, "if you can't beat em', join em'."

Our Newest Addition

So this is old news to most of you but my family hasn't seen pictures of the new car, so here they be. It's a 2004 Chrystler Town & Country (yes I know they just claimed bankruptcy...don't even get me started!) platinum touring edition (it has fun bells and whistles) and the kids love their "new grey car" instead of the "old blue car". We're pretty happy with it too...I have to say my all time favorite is not having to bend over anymore to buckle the kids in their car seats.
